Chief Inspector – Louisiana

Project Overview:

Involves excavation, pile driving, and pouring of multiple foundations. Work will overlap significantly with activities at adjacent project, requiring a Chief I level inspector who can manage their own scope independently.

Position Summary:

We're seeking an experienced Chief Inspector with a strong civil background to support foundation and earthwork activities on this project. This role does not necessarily include oversight of other inspectors — the priority is technical depth and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

• Inspect and verify excavation activities for compliance with project specs and drawings
• Monitor pile driving operations, including verification of installation methods and documentation
• Inspect formwork, rebar placement, and concrete pouring for multiple foundation structures
• Maintain accurate daily inspection reports and documentation
• Identify and communicate any non-conformance issues to the Construction Manager
• Operate independently with minimal day-to-day direction

Qualifications:

• Strong civil/foundations background required — excavation, pile driving, and concrete experience essential
• Chief Inspector (Chief I) level experience
• Highly self-directed; comfortable managing scope without close supervision
• Relevant certifications a plus (CWI, NACE, API, etc. depending on scope)
• Prior pipeline/midstream or heavy civil construction experience preferred
