Safety Advisor Inspector - Pipeline

Job Summary: The Safety Advisor Inspector is responsible for ensuring the safe construction, operation, and maintenance of pipeline systems. They monitor compliance with safety regulations, industry standards, and company policies, and provide guidance to field personnel on safe work practices. 


Key Responsibilities: 

  • Conduct regular inspections of pipeline construction sites, right-of-way, and facilities to identify potential safety hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations and procedures. 
  • Review and approve safety plans, job safety analyses, and other safety documentation for pipeline projects. 
  • Investigate incidents, near-misses, and safety concerns, and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence. 
  • Provide safety training and coaching to field personnel, emphasizing safe work practices, proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and emergency response procedures. 
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to ensure safety considerations are integrated into project planning and execution. 
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of safety inspections, audits, and training activities. 
  • Stay updated on changes to safety regulations, industry best practices, and emerging safety trends related to pipeline operations. 
  • Participate in safety meetings, incident investigations, and continuous improvement initiatives. 


Qualifications: 

  • Relevant experience in pipeline construction, operations, or maintenance, preferably in a safety role. 
  • Strong knowledge of safety regulations, codes, and industry standards related to pipeline systems. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate safety requirements and promote a strong safety culture. 
  • Ability to work in a field environment and conduct physical inspections. 
  • Proficiency in safety data analysis and report writing. 
  • Relevant safety certifications or training (e.g., OSHA, NCCER, API) preferred.
