Electrical Inspector Job Description


Position Overview

We are seeking experienced Electrical Inspectors to support the MCC and Control panel replacement project. The position requires oversight of station outage procedures, including replacement of MCC sections and lighting panels, preparation work for temporary power solutions, and commissioning activities.


Schedule

  • Six days on, one day off (6/1) rotation
  • Positions available for both day and night shifts


Responsibilities

  • Inspect pre-work activities related to wiring and conduit preparation for temporary power panels and generators
  • Oversee station outage procedures for removal of old MCC equipment
  • Verify proper installation of new MCC sections
  • Inspect wiring terminations for compliance with specifications and code requirements
  • Monitor commissioning processes and document results
  • Ensure all electrical work meets applicable codes, standards, and project specifications
  • Review contractor work for quality and compliance
  • Document inspection findings and maintain detailed records


Required Qualifications

  • Proven experience in electrical inspection
  • Valid Electrician License
  • Comprehensive knowledge of industry standard processes and procedures
  • Familiarity with API RP 1184 standards (for facility work)


Preferred Qualifications

  • API RP 1169 certification
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Degree or Diploma as an Engineer, Technician or Technologist in a related field
  • Industry Certification(s) and/or Trade School education
  • Master Electrician Ticket/License
  • OSHA 30 Hour Training for Construction (1926 - Safety and Health Regulations for Construction)
  • Experience with similar processes and procedures in the energy sector


Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work in varying environmental conditions
  • Capable of standing, walking, climbing, and working at heights
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Visual acuity sufficient to inspect detailed electrical components
