INSTRUMENTATION & ELECTRICAL INSPECTOR- REFINERY

 5 Days On / 2 Days Off | Borger, Texas

Epcon Partners is seeking an experienced I&E to support tank work at the Refinery, providing quality and compliance oversight across instrumentation and electrical scopes.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and oversee gauging system installations (level, pressure, flow instrumentation)
• Verify temperature probe and thermowell installations per design drawings
• Review conduit sizing, routing, and installation for NEC and spec compliance
• Perform PLC panel inspection, wiring verification, and I/O loop checks
• Conduct walk-downs, prepare inspection reports, punch lists, and redlines
• Interface with contractor crews, project engineers, and client representatives
• Document non-conformances and track corrective actions to closure

Requirements

• 5+ years I&E inspection or construction experience in a refinery or petrochemical setting
• Hands-on experience with tank gauging systems, temp probe installs, and conduit installation
• Working knowledge of PLC systems, loop checks, and I/O verification
• Ability to read P&IDs, electrical one-lines, and instrument loop drawings
• Familiarity with API, ISA, and NEC codes; OSHA 10 or 30 required
• Strong documentation skills (ITPs, inspection reports, redlines)
• API 650/653 tank experience and hazardous area electrical knowledge a plus
