Welding and Utility Inspector
Long-Term Project - Wyoming
Position Overview
We are seeking experienced Welding and Utility Inspectors for a long-term project in Wyoming. The successful candidates will be responsible for conducting comprehensive inspections of welding work and utility systems to ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and project specifications. This position requires extensive travel and field work in challenging environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect utility systems including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical installations
- Review and verify compliance with welding procedures, codes, and specifications (AWS, ASME, API, etc.)
- Document inspection results using BlueBeam software for digital markup, measurement, and reporting
- Collaborate with project teams to resolve non-conformance issues and ensure quality standards
- Conduct pre-welding inspections of materials, equipment, and joint preparation
- Monitor welding processes and procedures for adherence to approved work instructions
- Prepare detailed inspection reports and maintain accurate documentation
- Communicate findings to project management, contractors, and engineering teams
- Ensure all work meets applicable safety standards and regulatory requirements
Required Qualifications

BlueBeam Revu experience required - must be proficient in digital markup, takeoffs, and reporting functions
- Current AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification
- Minimum 5 years of welding inspection experience in industrial or construction environments
- Experience with utility system inspections (electrical, mechanical, plumbing)
- Familiarity with industry codes and standards (AWS D1.1, ASME Section IX, API 1104)
- Strong understanding of metallurgy and welding processes
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Ability to work in outdoor environments and adverse weather conditions
Preferred Qualifications
- NACE coating inspector certification
- Experience with pipeline, refinery, or power generation projects
- Knowledge of Wyoming state regulations and local codes
- Previous experience with long-term project assignments
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights
- Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds
- Extended periods of standing, walking, and climbing
- Visual acuity for detailed inspection work
- Ability to work in all weather conditions
