FACILITY UTILITY INSPECTOR – COMPRESSOR/PUMP STATIONS

Location: Idaho


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform day-to-day inspection of utility systems at compressor and pump station facilities, including piping, mechanical equipment, electrical systems, HVAC, and auxiliary systems
  • Monitor contractor and construction crew activities to verify compliance with project specifications, drawings, applicable codes, and client standards
  • Conduct walk-downs and document findings through detailed daily inspection reports (DIRs), punch lists, and non-conformance reports (NCRs)
  • Review and interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, isometrics, and vendor documentation to verify proper installation
  • Witness and document system functional tests, pressure tests, hydrostatic tests, and pre-commissioning activities
  • Coordinate closely with project engineers, construction managers, and client representatives to resolve field issues in a timely manner
  • Verify material traceability and confirm that materials used meet project specifications and applicable standards
  • Track open items and punch list items through to resolution
  • Support commissioning and startup activities as required
  • Maintain thorough and accurate project documentation in compliance with client and company requirements



QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 5 years of field inspection experience on oil and gas facility or midstream construction projects
  • Direct experience inspecting compressor stations, pump stations, or similar processing and utility facilities
  • Solid understanding of utility systems including fuel gas, instrument air, cooling water, lube oil, and HVAC
  • Familiarity with applicable codes and standards including ASME B31.3, B31.8, NFPA, and applicable API standards
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, P&IDs, and specifications
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to produce clear, accurate inspection documentation
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with project management or inspection software a plus
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced field environment with minimal supervision
