Cathodic Protection Inspector - Northern Region
April - September
Position Overview
Seeking an experienced Cathodic Protection Inspector to oversee ground bed installation projects throughout the RPC Northern Region, spanning from Tulsa, Oklahoma to Fargo, North Dakota. This position will ensure the proper implementation of high-level ground bed systems according to industry standards and project specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect and monitor the installation of high-level ground bed systems across multiple locations
- Verify proper placement and construction of cathodic protection components
- Conduct field testing to evaluate system effectiveness and performance
- Document inspection findings, collect data, and prepare detailed technical reports
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and regulations
- Review contractor work for adherence to design specifications and quality requirements
- Identify potential issues and recommend corrective actions
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and field technicians
- Maintain accurate records of inspections and test results
Qualifications
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in cathodic protection inspection, specifically with ground bed installations
- NACE CP certification (CP2 or higher preferred)
- Working knowledge of cathodic protection systems, materials, and testing procedures
- Familiarity with industry codes and standards (NACE, ASME, API)
- Strong technical writing skills for reporting and documentation
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
- Proficiency with testing equipment and data collection tools
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel extensively throughout the Midwest region
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work in various outdoor environments and weather conditions
- Capable of moderate physical activity including walking difficult terrain
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds
Travel Requirements
- Extensive travel required throughout the Northern Region (Tulsa, OK to Fargo, ND)
- Position may require extended periods in the field with rotating schedules
Preferred Skills
- Experience with high-level ground bed installations specifically
- Knowledge of pipeline operations and infrastructure
- Experience with remote monitoring systems for cathodic protection
