Renewables SCADA Engineering Advisor
Location: Denver
About the Role:
As the Renewables SCADA Engineering Advisor, you will oversee engineering design and commissioning for utility-scale renewable energy projects (wind, solar, battery storage) across the U.S. and Canada. You will develop SCADA, PPC, and EMS architecture, ensuring compliance with industry standards while collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive project success.
Key Responsibilities:

Project Management & Leadership – Oversee SCADA design and commissioning, track project progress, and provide technical support throughout the project lifecycle.

SCADA System Development – Design and implement SCADA, PPC, and EMS systems for renewable projects, including reviewing engineering design drawings.

Commissioning & Compliance – Perform functional testing, system verifications, and ensure SCADA systems meet operational requirements.

System Integration & Cybersecurity – Coordinate SCADA integration with utilities, RTOs/ISOs, substations, metering, and energy management systems while supporting cybersecurity frameworks.

Standards & Coordination – Update SCADA standards, review EPC design submittals, and evaluate communication/metering requirements in interconnection agreements.
What You Bring:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Automation & Controls, Electrical, or a related field.

7+ years of experience in SCADA design, commissioning, or power plant automation.

Expertise in Power Plant Controllers (PPC) for wind, solar, and battery storage systems.

Proficiency in SCADA/RTU programming and industry standards like IEC 61850.

Professional Engineer (PE) License or PMI Certification is a plus.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.
Additional Details:

Travel up to 30% for site visits and project commissioning.

Must have a valid U.S. driver’s license and a clean driving record.

Occasional work in high and medium voltage environments (substations, transformers, control rooms).

Willingness to comply with all safety and ethics policies.

Work includes 20% outdoor exposure to weather conditions.
