Construction Manager – Data Center Construction

Overview
We are seeking an experienced Construction Manager to oversee the onsite execution of a large-scale data center construction project in the Abilene, Texas area. This is a long-term contract opportunity supporting one of the industry's fastest-growing sectors, with responsibility for managing daily construction activities from mobilization through turnover.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background managing complex commercial, industrial, mission critical, or data center construction projects and will be comfortable leading multiple subcontractors while maintaining the highest standards for safety, quality, schedule, and budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all onsite construction activities throughout the project lifecycle.
- Coordinate and oversee subcontractors across multiple trades.
- Ensure work is completed safely, on schedule, and in accordance with project specifications.
- Monitor construction progress and proactively identify schedule or execution risks.
- Lead daily coordination meetings with subcontractors and project stakeholders.
- Review and manage project schedules, look-ahead plans, and daily reports.
- Coordinate inspections, testing, commissioning, and project turnover activities.
- Maintain strong communication with the project team, client representatives, and field personnel.
- Enforce quality control standards and ensure compliance with all safety requirements.
- Assist in resolving field issues, RFIs, change orders, and construction conflicts.
Preferred Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience as a Construction Manager, Senior Superintendent, or Project Manager overseeing large construction projects.
- Previous experience on data center, mission critical, industrial, manufacturing, power generation, utility, or large commercial construction projects preferred.
- Strong understanding of civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical construction activities.
- Experience managing multiple subcontractors in a fast-paced construction environment.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with Procore, Primavera P6, MS Project, or similar construction management software is a plus.
