Job Title: Quality Control Lead

Location: Wharton, TX

Duration: Contract through September 2027

Position Overview


A large utility-scale renewable energy project in Wharton, TX is seeking multiple Quality Control Leads to support on-site construction and commissioning activities for both a solar generation facility and a battery energy storage (BESS) installation.

This role will focus on verifying installation quality, supporting project quality management processes, and ensuring compliance with project specifications, safety requirements, and applicable industry standards throughout construction and commissioning.


Key Responsibilities

• Perform field inspections and quality audits during solar and BESS construction activities to verify compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and installation standards.

• Support implementation of the project Quality Plan, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), and turnover documentation during construction and commissioning.

• Identify, document, and track non-conformance reports (NCRs), punch list items, and corrective actions while coordinating resolution with construction teams and vendors.

• Review RFIs, submittals, installation procedures, commissioning plans, and work packages from a quality perspective.

• Maintain accurate quality records including inspection reports, testing documentation, and turnover packages.

• Monitor contractor compliance with project quality and safety requirements.

• Participate in daily field walks, coordination meetings, and toolbox talks.

• Verify work is performed in accordance with approved IFC drawings, specifications, and manufacturer installation guidelines.

• Support commissioning readiness by confirming inspections, documentation, and system turnover requirements are complete prior to energization.


Qualifications

• 3+ years of QA/QC experience supporting renewable energy, power generation, substation, or industrial construction projects.

• Familiarity with quality management systems, inspection processes, and NCR tracking.

• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and construction specifications.

• Working knowledge of NEC, NFPA, OSHA, and other applicable industry standards.

• Ability to work in active construction environments and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
